Tammy the Tortoise will occasionally push through the lattice surrounding the back deck and hide under the hot tub. Which is fine in the summer. But it's not going to work if snow falls and blocks her in.
So I picked up some pressure treated 2x4s and some spikes from Home Depot, and anchored the lattice in place.
Turns out a 10-foot 2x4 just fits inside my car.
While I had my tools out, I replaced the step to the back door. The planks had actually started to curl upwards and become a real safety hazard. Not anymore:
Hmm. That deck really needs to be repainted in the near future.
