Master Bathroom usable!

After church on Sunday, Brian and I were going to do only a few things and go to IKEA to return the full-priced bed frame.  Church was at Crossroads community church in Parker & very nice. It was infant dedication and, wow, I love watching babies squirm!

Spent way more time (and money) in IKEA... Not more than we returned though! Got new curtains for the bedroom & Brian wanted a Specific LED lightbulb (IKEA didn't have it!). Brian went to Home Depot to get new wooden shelves in the master closet... Spent a long time going through the lumber.
We put up the master bathroom mirror, reinstalled the lights. Brian and I installed his special speaker-light and the main bath light. He installed a towel rack & put up our first bathroom decoration!

See!

Here's a shot of the last lights to be installed in the bathroom. The saucer-shaped light on the left was an existing installation, but now has a new light fixture. We installed the in-ceiling can light (for the MusicLite) on the right ourselves. It was the first time we had done something like that, and it took way longer than I expected, involving both of us getting drywall dust in our eyes, a trip to the attic, and trying to test the wiring connection with a burnt out bulb.

However! It is installed and works great! It is actually quite bright, but has a built-in dimming function. The speaker is a bit on the quiet side, but part of that is probably because it's in a large open area. We listened to music through it while we cleaned up all the drywall dust and other mess. Overall I'm very pleased.

As for the trip to IKEA - I thought we were returning the bed and getting a few lightbulbs. Silly me. Since we only spent $40 on the bed, we could now afford new curtains!

  1. Your bathroom looks great! Everything looks brand new, clean, and beautiful. I love the colors and the lights. Wonderful outcome, you both must be pleased at what you learned and accomplished.
