Nest API

Well, hey, look at that: Nest just published their API. Looks like a somewhat limited early roll-out, but I already have a couple ideas of what I want to do with it.

Oh, wow! Didn't even think of these applications with the clothes dryer:

• Keep clothes fresh if your laundry cycle ends while you're away
• Save energy with longer, more efficient dryer cycles when you're away
• Auto-delay laundry cycles during energy rush hours

Presumably an internet-connected dryer could send me a push notification when it's done, as well. That would (hopefully) stop me from leaving the laundry in the dryer for two-or-three days.
