Residential Heat Recovery

Huh, this is a neat idea:

Hot Spot Energy has a product that sits between the compressor and the evaporator in an air conditioner or heat pump. It extracts some of the waste heat and uses it at the hot water tank or even a pool heater.


So: Taking something that's entirely a waste product, and doing something useful with it. Makes a lot of sense. I'll have to revisit this if we ever get around to installing ductless heat pumps in our house (after the solar panels are paid off).
