Visit to Washington

Phew, I got out of the habit of blogging.

Brianna, Link and I flew to Seattle on Thursday evening. The flight took off after Link's normal bedtime, and he pretty much slept the whole flight.

It was great to see so many friends and family again, and to introduce Link to everyone!

Four Generations!
Brianna and I left Link in the care of his grandparents and went out Sunday night. We got to check out the Puget Sound and visit a Sushi place we enjoyed early in our marriage, when we lived in Marysville.

Link was a total pill on the flight back, but I guess you can't have everything.

Coming Home

I had a really good weekend in Washington, and got to touch base with a lot of people.

Mom sent me home with a 40 pound care-package - mostly some of my childhood toys, but Dad tried to add some really old items from the garage (I did wind up taking my old bicycle pump home).

Dad and I got up early to get me to the airport, but we had to route around some kind of massive accident that closed the freeway down to one lane. I got to the airport, went through security (which takes a lot longer without a pregnant lady - I had to go through the standard line), walked on the airplane, and five minutes later we were pulling away from the gate. So it worked out well!

The flight was uneventful, and I was able to put in an afternoon of work before heading home and reuniting with my beautiful wife!

Playing with Other People's Kids

Oh, man, I had so much fun playing with these kids.

Airplanes

The novelty of modern air transportation wore off a long time ago for me. But I don't think I'll ever get tired of the seeing a city at night from the air.

Brian's Weekend in Washington

I'm coming up to Washington to visit friends and family one more time before the baby arrives!

I leave straight from work this afternoon, and I'll leave Seattle early Monday morning and go straight to work from the airport. Which is going to make for a super fun travel weekend.

Brianna is no longer allowed to fly - she'll be staying home this weekend, nesting and studying.

Medema Family Gathering

Uncle Ed hosted a family gathering at his house (with swimming pool!) for the extended family while we were up in Washington.

It was great to see so many people again, some of whom I haven't seen in years!

Baby Shower

Michelle threw a fantastic and fantastically well-organized baby shower for Brianna! I don't have many photos, but the short time I spent there looked pretty fun!

Aunt Fran, Aunt Karen and Heidi came up from south Washington just to see us! Uncle Bill sent up a little gift for me, keeping in theme with this website: an IKEA gift card!

Dad later cracked a joke that "Now you can afford something from the full-price section!" (Psh - or two more things from the as-is section, Dad!)

Speaking of Dad, Simeon and I took the dogs over to visit Dad while the baby shower was going on. While Dad was showing us the latest work on the car he is restoring, the dogs hopped up into the trunk, ready to go on a drive!

I was thinking of photoshopping a pistol onto Dad's hip where he's reaching for his phone, but my photoshop skills aren't up to the task - you'll have to imagine it for yourself.

Weekend in Washington

Brianna and I flew up to Seattle after work on Friday. It feels like we fit a lot in without getting overwhelmed, which was great!

Also, I am going through airport security with a pregnant lady from now on. Got automatic TSA pre-check in both directions, flew past the line, and didn't even have to take off my shoes.

Visit to Washington - September 5th through 8th

Alright, we're finally making it back to Washington!

We are coming up the weekend after Labor Day, arriving late Friday night, and leaving Monday.

We're looking forward to seeing a lot of people we haven't seen in a long time!
